Matt graduated from Imperial College London with a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and subsequently earned a Doctorate in the field of solid state electrochemistry at the University of Cambridge.

He joined EMC as Engineering Director in 2004 and has since co-patented a range of technology for solid electrolyte based sensors, notably the market leading Hycal for measurement of dissolved hydrogen in molten aluminium.

In addition to research, Matt is an expert in fields vital to sensor commercialisation including ceramic processing, 3D CAD modelling & simulation, analogue electronics, C# programming, PLC programming/SCADA integration, ERP deployment, and ISO quality management systems.
